The code is modified from the PyMaemo link.. I just added python's url handling so I can post the coordinates to my server where PHP does the rest...
If you're still interested I can share the code of course

Hehe well you're right.. but the thing is that I have a personal GPS locator attached to my dog which sends coordinates to my server. When I'm out with my dog eg. hunting and my dog gets lost, my gf can see online where the dog is.
The prob was that her map skillz are not so great so she couldn't explain where the dog actually was. That's why I added my own location too
at least now she can tell me how far from me and what direction the dog is currently

I (for one) would love to see this code. We use a similar app on WM devices for tracking our deliveries from one plant to another across the border. To be able to do a proof of concept on Maemo would be fantastic.
