Fu** sake MfE doesn't work with Lotus Domino 8.5.1 server. Even the Domino imap-server is bugging like hell with Modest.. I see two identical inbox and when I open one of them i see the messages but all of them diseappear after a while.

Hi Spooley,

Im using 3G and wifi whenever possible but syncing can sometimes be immediate or 5 hours late. Peak and off peak are set to always on. Mind you there are a lot of mail folders to sync. which brings me to my question.

Will mfe always be giving you a list of all mail folders without any structure or is it possible to have some kind of structure, i have hundreds of sub folders now they show as i long list.

Cheers for answering before.

No SSL, so no need for certificates
Exchange 2007 OWA works fine.
Device is on latest update.
Non-Provisionable devices allowed.

Any help is appreciated.
Hi Born,

Had all these issues straight out of the box.

Had to update to 2.2009,

You need secure server, initial setup should then complete.

Good luck

Hi Vitaly,

mfe sync is now working with exchange, but my client has 100's of mail subfolders which slows down sync and drains the battery, is it possible to not sync the subfolders.

Thanks

I too am having an issue with MFE 2003. I cannot get past the inital account creation, I am getting the "Either exchange server requires a secure connection or your account is disabled" error. My cert is NOT self-signed, it is a godday cert. I have the cert for the server and all root and intermediate certs for the godaddy CA installed in cert manager. I am running the latest firmware, and non-provisionable devices are supported by my server. I can see in my firewall logs that my phone is connecting it sends about 700b and receives 4k when the session is closed after being open for about 45 seconds. The logs from the phone are below, I hope someone can help me get around this. If you need more info let me know.

Thanks,

Matt

Is HTML email supported by MfE? I'm using Exchange 2003, everything works after PR1.1 except I was disappointed that everything is plain text. Is it a problem specific to me or does all MfE lack HTML?

Go check out mfefolders in extras-devel. That's exactly what you're looking for.

That's not MfE-related. MfE "only" syncs with the server. Emails get displayed by maemo's email client (modest).

Hi Vitaly and all the Maemo team

I finally have my N900 back for replacement cause of re-boot bug.
I upgraded to firmware PR 1.1 and installed a MFE account.

I had to manage the issue of certification authority but I resolved it.
Now MFe is working with Exchange 2003 server SP2 BUT I still have some issue:
1) Calendar and task is not working. I can sync address and mail but not them. I saw the bug 7971 and vote it. It seem I have the same problem because I certainly have some recurring events (most of them are birthdays) in my exchange calendar.
As soon as I have a little time I'll try to delete them but it would be nicer to have a fix for this problem.
2) How is working the contacts sync ? I saw that if I add a contact in the phone is copied on my outlook contacts but If I delete one contact on Exchange is not deleted on the N900. I set it to resolve conflict giving prioryty to the server.

EDIT: I made another try and this time the N900 gets the updated contact and deleted the one that I erased on outlook. So point 2 seems OK.

As soon as I'll try to do more test I'll report about them.

For now I quit waiting for your reply.
Greets from Italy,
Cesare

Hey everyone,

I'm also unable to connect with the latest build (51.1); I believe my exchange server is 2003, but I'm not the admin and it's a fairly big organization.

This is what I got from the log:
