Jason, 33 from NYC, New York. Lucky enough to have a Nokia flagship store in town, and picked mine up yesterday after much debating between this and an HTC HD2. After less than 20 hours playing with it, I have to say I'm highly impressed. I would just like smoother integration with FB and Twitter, especially in the media sharing areas.

Been following this forum for about a month or two, and looking forward to learning from you all.

Hello, I'm Jeannette. I've just recently got a Nokia n800 from ebay.
I have been researching and downloading for about two weeks. My husband is a programmer and he programs everyday. However, he doesn't use linux, but he does have some knowledge. He has loads of programming books and he has tried to get me to learn some basics. Although I lost interest. Now that I have the Nokia and he sees me on Maemo everyday. "He's like your still doing that. That's determination." LOL

Hello, I recently got a N900 and I'm quite pleased so far.

One little question: I found the virtual keys with a bunch of accents (as deadkeys) and some "special" character (braces, pipe, copyright etc.), but I can't seem to find a way to produce the "ß" character (ß for those who speak HTML). Just tell me if I overlook something obvious. I've got a UK model.

Best regards & happy mobile surfing & hacking all,
Jan

well i dont know if there is an option with uk layout but you can add a german one to your virtual keyboard. with a simple click you can change it and change it back. at numbers there is the "ß".

by the way hi to all
i got my n900 right from the start in december and i love it more each day. i hope to find answers to many questions as a linux beginner and also i hope to give help as well. i'm happy that i found this great forum. its members showed me so much friendlyness so far... so i'm looking forward learning much

Hi everyone, only a couple of weeks until I can upgrade to an N900 so trying to get lots of info so I can hit the ground running.

Coming from Android so hopefully it won't be too traumatic...

Quick question:
Can I brick the N900 by installing development packages etc?

With Android you can install a recovery console and backup/restore ROMs which will allow you to restore a fubared phone so I could try experimental versions of Android without worrying.
