I know. But I ran out of room.

And pause for a moment to think that Vista was pretty much Microsoft's "interim" release for Win7

I know which is actually quite scarey, at least things are moving in the right direction with Windows 7

It only really dawned on me yesterday that Windows 95 is 15 years old !

Well, it is Mandriva being RedHat derivative, not vice versa ;-)

Just updated my main from Ubuntu 9.10 (koala) to 10.04 Alpha 2 (lynx)... if you game with an ATI card: wouldn't recommend.

Yay for another week of hacking at ATI's drivers to make them compile with a new X server *argh*. Will probably end up having to downgrade the X.

Anyway... on topic: Ubuntu

I was so obsessed with my N900 that I forgot about Lynx!

Anywho, I'm not willing to go around and mess with Alpha software anymore since school started up... Who knows what big project might be coming...

My Excuse:

"Sorry Mr. Professor, I.. uh... installed an alpha version of a linux operating system, and it had problems with my ATi graphics card. I can't get OpenOffice to work either. Could you give me an extension? Maybe next year?"

Ah... now back to writing an abstract letter...

Sounds perfectly logical to me... I'd give you one

Mandriva, Redhat and OpenSuse all use rpms. But they are not derivates of either one of them.
Mandriva and OpenSuse were derivates of Redhat a long long time back :-)

Maemo falls in the "Debian (and variants including Ubuntu)" bucket, right?
