So I ordered a N900 two weeks ago. (in the Netherlands) The website I ordered it from had a great deal in combination with a good contract.

The guy I spoke on the phone said it would take at least two weeks. So I called them today to hear if they already knew when they would have it in stock. The guy on the phone sounded frustrated, because they didn't have a clue. It could take at least another 2 weeks.

On other websites in the Netherlands the N900 is also out of stock. No one expects it before week 8.

You would think that production would be sorted out by now. What's happening?

Problems with production? Is it too popular? Or are all the n900's shipped to the UK, because Vodafone started carrying them?

I'm getting kinda frustrated. I read this forum every day, and I still can't play with all the good stuff...

Problem is that the phone is a lot cheaper with a contract. Here in the Netherlands, providers give away phones like popsicles. For me it is not interesting to buy a phone and get a sim-only contract.

So i'll just have to wait. Was wondering if that's the downside of living in a small country, or if there are waitinglists everywhere.

I have been waiting for it since three weeks here in Spain, and I think I'm not going to have it soon... It's easy to find the N900 in the stores if you want it without any contract, but Vodafone seems to have a great stocking problem!

Last time I checked it, the salesman said that the problem was Nokia, as they don't give them enough units, and it seems that they have the same problem with the 5800

But I want to wait to get it with Vodafone, because I can get it for 236€

I purchased my N900 in the Netherlands just before Christmas from Belcompany (http://www.belcompany.nl) - I kept phoning around their stores till I found one with stock (http://www.belcompany.nl/NL/Zoek_Een_Winkel.htm). Unfortunately the first one I had was plagued with the random reboot problem, but they exchanged it and now I'm a happy N900'er.

NoX, i'm not sure wether you already have the device or not, I got mine from Vodafone Spain this past monday, although i had to buy it in the online store. There's none in the stores here in my city.

Dutch prefer US+EuroSign keyboard layout. Certainly not the QWERTZ german layout
