Is there a way to update the files "catalog" for the mediaplayer. I cant find anything on this. Not here on the site nor in the N900 phone .

I copied a movie and the mediaplayer wont find it. But it starts if I point at the file in the file manager.

Ive read that theres a way to reread files by going to the x-.terminal. But that seems a little over the top for usability....

Any suggestions? Shall I report it as a bug. I have seen and voted for one fix 5339.

Currently the only way to force an update is to run "tracker-processes -r" in X Terminal. The real bug is the need to do this though - tracker should be picking up any new files, so if it's failing to then that's where the bug is.

It's always a question how aggressive tracker should update its database. illemann, how long did you wait? 30min?
