Pretty much the first think Nokia said in their _product launch_ was that this is not yet mass market ready and that Maemo6 is where it's at. If that's not transparent and fair then I don't know what is! 
Anyway, tell us your price, OP, and I am sure people will grab it of your frustrated hands in no time!

The only product launches you ever hear about, are apple product launches. A week before the iPad, the Other Steve showed off Better Tablets, and I have yet to notice any tech site, blog, or private person mention it.
Information shared on these insider events is simply not the information people know about or even find when they consider what device to get.

show me the link where nokia officially said PRIOR to launch that this is not mass market device?

You were however stating that Nokia apologists believe it's a problem free product for most owners. The Nokia apologists I have seen, do not have blinds. They have opinions. They believe the product is right for them, and that the people who it is not right for, were wrong to buy it.
