It would be IMMENSELY useful to me (and many others I am sure) if there was a program on the N900 that allowed you take notes, creating a page that incorporates inputted text from the keyboard as well as being able to draw.

I personally would use it to take lectures in my physics class - typing the written words and drawing the diagrams with the touchscreen.

Does anyone know if one exists? I have been through a few of the free ones but couldn't find anything.

Much gratitude folks!

NB Willing to pay!

try maepad, seems to be closest to what you're looking for. it's in extras, either devel or testing, not sure

Just tried it - there is no way to type text, just draw. Thanks for the reply though

I would say that Xournal should be there soon, so keep an eye on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Liqbase is there too, when it finally makes its appearance for the N900. Its author is a Maemo/Meego superstar who has been invisible lately, usually meaning he is up to something devious...

Hmm yes I see that now, thanks Dr. Maemo!

Its definately the closest thing to what I need. Maybe I am just being spoiled but it would be wonderful if there could have the drawing and typing on a single sheet, rather than broken down into nodes.

Latest Xournal from extras-testing (or extras-devel) repos has text typing. You can activate those repos or wait for it to enter the stable repo.
I use the latest unstable and it's ok.
