It was on the x86 SDK, thus it was using host/mesa OpenGL. The speed there doesn't really matter...

pcsxr? wut? i cant see that approaching psx4al speed even with a gl plugin (would like to be proven wrong though

A more promising path would be for smoku and ali to get together, share what they have learned about the psx4all mess (which it is), and then show zodttd that they are serious about contributing to the core work.

We could also see how many folks would be willing to contribute a bounty to fund a N900 for the zodttd crew.. (id be up for donating)

I have tried quick and dirty optimization tricks already and can say with confidence that there are no magic bullet solutions without learning the PS1 system and psx4all code.

I contacted with Ali and got his patches for psx4all.

But I simply cannot stand psx4all code. If someone wants to work on it, fine with me. Just clone http://github.com/smokku/mpsx and have a go.

Why cannot you see pcsx-r approaching psx4all speed? Both have dynarec and similar architecture.

My PCSX dynarec for ARM is progressing nicely.
And I did some progress of running OpenGL GPU plugin over glesport. I also asked Pete to share his OpenGL 2 GPU plugin - porting it to OpenGL ES 2.0 would be close to trivial. Hope to hear from him.

i'd happily chip in to the bounty...happy to pay for good work
