Please remember that the Eye-Fi requires an access point network to connect to, and as of now it is not yet possible to use the N900 as an access point.

Also, to people implying that only "old" cameras use CF cards, I would like to point out that there are no professional-grade cameras that use SD cards exclusively (actually, most pro-grade cameras don't even have an SD port). SD might be convenient because they are cheap and universally accepted, but CF still blows SD out of the water in terms of speed and efficiency and more importantly: durability.

A CF card could be run over by a car and still work. Don't try that with an SD card

doesnt eye-fi need SDIO capabilities? an CF adapter wouldn't work in this case.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Most DSLRs use SD. At least the Nikons and Canons I looked at. Oh there is JoikuSpot which allows you to use the N900 as a wifi access point.

I just checked it and it seems that the professional grades do mostly still use CF.
I only looked at the newer semi-semi-professional camera's like the EOS 500D, since a higher class isn't available for my budget yet.

You can use SD to CF adapters. I heard that works fine. As for Wifi access Joikuspot uses Adhoc networks not infrastructure and the Pro X2 card supports Adhoc networks.

The next question to figure out is if it supports ftp. If so, then we're as good as gold. :-) The other option is to compile and install samba.
