It looks like the map loader is out. I just loaded my state and have not tried it yet.

I don't really care maps on phone... I've tomtom in my car and that's all i need.. Why navigate with phone, i think that's just stupid.

One person's stupid is another's necessity. The trend currently is moving towards what you find stupid. Stupid or not, there is a demand that must be met.

Why carry 2 devices?
What about navigatin while walking/ running?
What about when in a vehicle without tom tom?

nokia maps 3.1 and garmin ( which are on symbian handsets like n95-n97) are much better then tomtom, we have a tomtom which no one really uses any more. I like having one device that does all. some times i'm in friends car and i can direct them using my phone. Hope fully maps v3 and sygic will be on n900 soon.

does anybody know where they got that nice looking windshield mount that is shown in that article? I would like to get one of those.

I'm assuming you're talking about the first link. The mount in the picture is Nokia HH-12. I don't know what holder it is.

Having tried 2 ebay crap-o-la windshield mounts to date (both in the garbage bin) I'm keen to find this out too.

Crap, looks like you right, the mount is separate from the holder... This just got more expensive - 2 separate pieces = 2 prices to pay.
Does anyone know the name of the holder then
