Hey,

Is there a way to see what's recently been added to the list of applications available to download?
So far I'm still staying away from 'devel' and 'testing' repositories, and will only install applications from the normal maemo forums and such... I check every here and there and if anything catches my eye I will install it... But I would like to know what's new since I last checked.

Is there a way to do this?

Thank you.

i think when you click "Downloads" on the top of this page you'll see the most popular and the hottest (newest/latest) apps?!

or you install an app named "appwatch" there you can sort the list by date and i think it even shows a preview for some apps to come

There is "appdownloader" application which will tell statistics and "what is new" in repositories.
I do not know from which repo I got it from.

(How to know, i.e. in terminal, from where some installed package was retrieved from?)

That, is comedic... But, but, is there an appwatch watch to watch for appwatch?

So I guess I can semi-manually monitor new apps by checking the site via browser?

mhm... just add the rss-feed-widget to any of your desktops and add the download's hot section as rss feed

http://maemo.org/downloads/rss/Maemo5/rss.xml

Description: Download client for extras applications in maemo.org
This application should ease the discovery and installation of maemo.org applications
Known issues:
-> login and commenting not possible yet
-> some metadata missing
But no idea yet how to see from what repository it came from.
Also time when it was installed would be nice to know.
