It's just a simple question without any hiddden, angry judgment against ya.

Thanks again for seeing this project through by the way.

Most idgits here would have given up a long time ago.
Addison - On the SVGClock implementation, I took the PyGTK, Cairo, SVG route as the dependencies were readily available then ( though not all were in the repositories) . Specifically the key SVG rendering python bindings/dependency was not available in the repos until couple of weeks back and this delayed the 'one click' installable release for the SVGClock.

On the other hand PyQT for Diablo seems to be available now, but as attilla noted in this thread, it has a size issue and it would not help the folks who have not cloned their OS to a mmc card.. Considering this and that the PyGTK route works both from a utility and performance perspective, I think I will stick to the current implementation. As such mikec is working on the PyQT version of the clock and it seem to be working fine.. Once we have a framework for having it as a desktop widget, it should be good..

Now coming to the problem of some of the SVG themes in Gnome-look.org not working on the SVGClock, I will see if I can tweak the scaling of the SVGs in my code to accomodate them...

But I hope you would appreciate the fact that except for a few themes that dont work ( specifically Kuduk's themes, which seem to be of different dimensions), we have more than a 100 clock themes from the gnome-look site that work well on diablo for the SVGClock

I don't get why you're so technical when presenting an answer to a simple question. It's like reading Sputnik to me.

But yeah, I could care less about the ones that don't work and I certainly wasn't complaining.

I was only wondering if it would be possible in the future to have them available for use.

I think Mike said his QT version was hogging the CPU at something like 30%. I'd much prefer yours since it seems to run so much lighter than that.

sorry about that.. There was a similar question earlier from someone else and I thought I will explain for the benefit of those who would want to know the background..

the new themes by Kuduk definitely looks good and I will see if we can make them work too.

Yep, I tried that earlier as well and found that the two running together and top of each other were off by a second or so.

Hey shin, a few questions.

Is it possible to not display all the parts with SVG Clock? I wanted to try to just have the clock hands displayed only as to try something different. When I deleted the other graphics though, your clock won't load.

Also, any possible way to change the ring coloring for your new clock? It looks as though there are 3 different shades of gray that can't be edited. I was hoping to make them different shades of black and I'm sure LABAUDIO will want them to be weirdo mucus green borg colors as well. :*lol*

Lastly, in
/usr/lib/ringlock/prefs.glade
what line can I edit to make it so that a single click will launch your alarm clock instead of a double one?

By the way, install was breeze. I'm actually digging on the strange readout and style of your ring clock.

Very trippy dude!

For all or not in svgclock...yes i see this too...you need all parts..but hey...just fade out all opacity...or more...make just a blank.svg for part you dont want...

for gray scale in ringclock..maybe put setting for color like others parts...simply

anyway in ringclock to make secondes part additional instead flash

you know why not let the ''second''ring be fulled and at :00 be blanked...could be more slick this way
59 second =59 part colored (sorry iam french)

and here another great one....i want this one i can adapted .glade and .py for maemo too...

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.p...?content=82777

if could be cool to add an application double-click runner action instead alarm for Ringclock too

The clock reminds me of a giant, bruised cervix inside a coslopus. Ugh...

Hey, how can I make a blank.svg file? Could you post that here so I can use it?

The suggestion by LABAUDIO is the way to do it.. You need to have a blank SVG file by that name ( you should be able edit SVG files with Inkscape )

Also, any possible way to change the ring coloring for your new clock? It looks as though there are 3 different shades of gray that can't be edited. I was hoping to make them different shades of black and I'm sure LABAUDIO will want them to be weirdo mucus green borg colors as well. :*lol*
yes, the background color ( which is grey by default now) will be made selectable using color selection panel, when released..

Lastly, in

Now, you asked a technical question.. I will try answering in a simple way as I can..
The double click functionality comes from the pygtk code and is not in the glade file ( which is by the way, a tool generated xml file).. The reason behind the Alarm UI display in response to a double-click is to have it only when it is actually intended..

If the UI display is setup for a single click, then it gets displayed even when you are trying to drag the applet to its position on the desktop ( un-intended/wanted display could take away the use of the functionality).. I need to find a way to differentiate between drag and click in my code to be able to do this.. will try this for the next version..
