On doing my nightly catch ups reading different sites i bumped in to this File manager written in QT its a easy to use full system browser
its currently in Extras-devel but even so seems quite stable to me
i've had no problem copying a few Bios files over and deleting the old ones i was using in picodrive
just thoight i'd share what i come across b/c i've read many times ppl wanting a full system Browser with a nice front end
heres a few pictures on http://my-maemo.com/software/applica...to=1354&faq=43

People who dont know what having Full access to the system could potentially mean then under no circumstances you should touch this as it may be very harmful to your device and/or health.
use extras-devel repo with care as it may have unstable pre-release software and could cause problems, so make sure you know what your doing before messing around

my-maemo say the maintainer is Tommi Asp so i'd like to thank him for this app
dont know what his name on talk is but i'm hoping he shows up and gets some karma from us

You know what I really miss in the file browser?
The ability to unzip files.
It would be one of those benefits that would make me try a third party file browser.
For example... you download a file on your phone, which you want to use right away on the phone. But oh dear... it's zipped. Or compressed with Rar.
And yes, I know there is a small command line based zip tool for in the terminal, but that is just cumbersome IMO.

There's a zip plugin for File Manager, but nothing for rars yet.

i use xarchiver with unrar and unzip, works a treat.
But we do need a all in one with the ability to make archives also.
You can download xarchiver and plugins HERE

Very nice!

Btw. Why all Qt-applications have so big height value for lists. Yes i understand that this is optimized for touch screen but still. For example here you can see that you could take some pixels away from height of one list item e.g. 12 pixels per item. It would mean ~60 pixels in this case and that would mean that you could see 6 items per one screen.

Thanks!
I didn't know this would get so much attention.
I started this project just for fun after few people complained about the file manager on N900 and released first version as project work for mobile programming course i took. There is new version going to extras-devel as i write this and it contains few fixes but it will require new libqt4 from pr 1.2.
Project has page at http://cuteexplorer.garage.maemo.org/ . Feel free to report bugs and leave feature requests.

Make sure it shows the whole file name, including extensions!

When it hits testing I can help with testing. Meanwhile, thanks for your great effort.

I cannot copy from a nfs-share mounted with wizardmounter. I always get an error if I try
this. With case copying works.
