That was a very interesting read, brought to light many things I was unaware of, so thanks for that.
Now reading through I saw 2 sections which refer to 1.2 being a reality. They are:-

Why should I report bugs for Maemo 5, everything is marked as WONTFIX or will be fixed in Harmattan ?
[edit] Is Nokia still working on bugs fixing for Maemo 5 ?

Since its launch date on November 22, 2009, Maemo 5 (official platform and applications) has received 552 patches (as of April 5, 2010)

Upcoming release : PR 1.2
Source : http://www.octofish.net/bugjar/

What are the officially-confirmed major feature in future Maemo 5 release ?

- PR1.2

1. QT 4.6
Source : [Confirmed by Qgil, Trolltech, etc.]
2. Live wallpaper
Source : Bug 3910
3. Customizable single menu, no more "More",,
Source : Bug 5349

- PR1.3
1. QT Mobility

Source : Urho Konttori (Nokia)

Now the last bit refers to Urho Konttori saying QT Mobility will be available in PR 1.3!!??!!
Urho Konttori is the project manager for Freemantle applications at Nokia.

Now if hes already talking about PR 1.3, and again being the app project manager, does this not convince you that 1.2 is going to be a reality?

Yes i know what your saying and for me also its very confusing but if you read these links you will be a lot wiser... please do and let me know ok.....

so untill YOU know just what the heck is going on its going to be a wild guessing game for everyone but the board in Nokia that makes the final decisions.
I can tell you one thing for sure here , the N900 IS without doubt Nokia worst nightmare because people keep jumping on the bandwagon and offering better and better and untill the problem with developers are well and truly sorted out this is going to happen. So IF Nokia decide to end Maemo or they dont what REALLY matters is end user satisfaction because right now there is probably 75% of N900 purchasers either totally peed off or have sold there device already. Looks soooo good for Nokia aye !.
All anyone wants is something that seems impossible to obtain... THE TRUTH.

75% is too high even for a guesstimate

Yes, the TRUTH will come later. Whether its good or bad only time will tell. Lets not get ahead of ourselves on that one.

and Abill its not about playing games with people. Have a look at this - http://wiki.maemo.org/What_can_we_re..._realistic_.21

Its understandable and acceptable that certain topics are out of public domain for now. That's how businesses work all over.

That is why I appreciate Nokia officials at least having a presence in the community.

@james174
Have a look here for details of the upcoming PR1.2

James thanks for reading that as it is very confusing and somewhat derogative in some parts, my guess is Nokia have no choice but to carry on with this untill they sort out there outsources in the development world they use.
I would like to think that whatever happens we will end up with Nokia's so called "flagship" in the true sense because i am sad to read that people have already sold there device because of all the uncertainty surrounding it when all it would have took was a clear statement from Nokia as to what IS happening with the N900.
I want to be very wrong in my thoughts personally and only time will tell.
The main problem with the N900 is it lacks the basic functions of a mobile that everyone is already accustomed too and people in the world today get let down very easily it appears and really do give it some with wild accusations etc ha well i live in hope James as i know you also do that we all end up with the basic functions we are all used too and live with in a mobile whatever lol.
Its kinda like fish and chips but someone forgot to put the chips in with the fish hmmmmm lol, thanks anyhow and i guess we have no choice but to wait because one thing for sure i am no way selling my N900 after paying £500 PLUS £78 import fee's as i bought it from ebay via the states.
I will for now change my name to "confused" and go get a headache pill lol.

These links i have already read through before and the question i keep asking myself is , why is Nokia taking sooo long to implement at least some of these for now because for some people they are a must, ie:ussd is probably the most urgent throughout the world.
Nokia are not exactly what i would call a peoples company as they hide far too much and are too slow at most things it seems.
Why are they waiting now nearly 2 whole months since the last minor update to implement the most important issues at least mearly for customer satisfaction than anything else ! because right now they are rather peeing more people off then ever before with this one i have to say.

Thats the spirit! Not to give up.
When I first came to the site, all I saw through the posts were people becoming so frustrated / angry / heartbroken cause answers were not appearing.
But looking between the lines, following little snippits of possible facts, double checking statements and looking for proof, things started giving me hope, and made sense. I started shrugging off the negativity as I too was ready to sell up and move on. I completely understand why you wrote that statement. Its easy to overlook the obvious, everyone does it, we're all confused. If Nokia just gave an official statement of what was coming up in the coming days/weeks/months no-one would have to play the guessing game. So dont kick yourself, just accept Nokia does things in ways no-one understands, but as a team.... We'll suss it. We always do

Yes, but only because they want to kill overclock: they can't even try to sell us a new model in less than 1 year if n900 oc works nice 800-1000 mhz, yeeees, with shorted lifetime... of two years... that lifetime is more than the one they want: New N9, with a xxxxmhz is out, before end of 2010, but we have n900 with the same (even more) xxxxmhz.
Yeah, "don't overclock, else WE'LL not be able to fry your n900 launching N9"

(they CAN stop oc, remember, proprietary drivers LOOKING FOR OC UNITS COULD "CRASH" WHENEVER THEY WANT)

I absolutely agree with you here 1000% and i CAN confirm i talk sense in that direction because i was a pcb cad design engineer and only too aware of the damage caused by heat.. look at my reply on the Why does Nokia give us such a low default 600MHz? topic ha... anyhow never a truer word said there !
If these guys only knew they are dealing with a multi layer pcb when overclocking they would think twice before frying there device lol.

So then we're NOT agree abill... I mean:
For me, a device lifetime of 1-1.5 years IS enough since I know n900 will not be a Nokia-supported device much more than PR1.2... if even PR1.2 is real.
So I can "safely" overclock... when fried, here we go Android...
But N9 will not have more-power-enough compared to n900OC to make me feel I need it before leaving Nokia.
So our dying overclocked n900's agony will be too much time-long for N9 success.
They need FRY OC UNITS NOW, or just STOP OC CAPABILITIES NOW, else N9 (with MeeGo 1.0 "when MeeGo 1.2" for months, WE KNOW IT) will shrink.

[PS] Sorry again, I'm doing my best when writing english, very hard to explain myself in your mother-language, I can't even choose the right words to say what I want to say

PR1.2 has been cancelled as the 1 person left in Nokia working on it has been on long term sick, all development is now going to the N910 which will be running Meego and is to be launched at the beginning of June.....or July.....or August....
