If program is cleanly written (without apsolute memory access), Chip mem can be alocated and used same way as fast memory.

Chip memory is let's say Graphic memory, and you can not display graphic out of fast memory, so it can not apply other way around.

512k graphic memory is enough to display graphic on OCS graphic modes. On ECS modes you need a bit more (1MB). On AGA modes you need 2MB.

UAE4All emulates OCS only so 512 chip should be enough.

Hi, I used to have a 2MB A500, it wasn't useless- As I didn't use it for games only. As much as i'd like to see AGA or RTG support, i'd still use an A500 with as much ram as I could get for DPaint, 3D rendering, voxel landscape rendering etc, using my old favourite programs.

2.0 does use some more memory, and you have a point there, but 2.0 ROM is specific to ECS Amigas (A500plus, A600 and A3000) that have 1-2 MB chip mem, and using kick 2.0 will break compatibility with more games by itself, then because of memory issues.

Goal of the UAE4All project is to emulate standard A500 platform with bias for gaming.

IIUC standard A500 present everywhere had:
- Kickstart 1.3
- OCS
- 512kB Chip RAM
- 512kB Slow RAM in expansion slot

That must have been A500plus since A500's were maxed at 512k Chip up to rev 6. where upgrade to 1MB chip was possible, but broke possibillity of adding aditional slow memory, so also pointless.
DPaint will work without problems on 512k chip and 512k slow amigas on OCS graphic modes that uae4all emulates.

As for 3D rendering at A500 speed, on n900... UAE4ALL is not ment to do this, but if you wan to torture yourself you can try E-UAE or UAE ports, that offer far more options.

smoku. latest version seems to have lost sound - at least in the 3 games I tested.
furthermore, two out of the 3 games dont load all the way o the game (flashback and deuteros). Millenium 2.2 works like a charm, and mouse em seems to be spot on now.

It's defaulted to "emulate, silent"

I will fix that right away.

This is the correct direction your going in, keeping it simple and the performance levels good.

Workaround is to:
Run the game.
Go to menu and disable and enable sound.
Return to game.

Sound is back.
