Nokia are notorious for changing the chargers each phone release. Or generational release. I would argue that because our company phones are nokia and we need three differing types of charger to supply the office and charge all the phones. Not to mention my N900 that is "new" and has yet another charger type (Requiring a Nokia supplied and over costed piece of kit) Whereas HTC use one type that is as the name suggest, 'universal.' I can use the cable of my portable harddrive to power up my HTC tytn2, or the cable from my Canon digital camera, or the USB cable that came with my SD card reader. I can plug it in my PC, the wall (via three pin connector), my Xbox, my Nintendo wii, even my car via the radio slot, cigarette lighters etc.
Nokia needs a three pin plug with adaptor and plugs take up more travelling space and have one use. A USB cable and plug has the ability to charge from all the above and charge any USB device. One cable ten devices.

So they might have emerging markets now, but there insistance on niche market basic technology will be their undoing in the markets where the money really is.

Please do your homework first, before posting ridiculous statements.

It's 12.9mm on the thickest part(12mpx camera module). So it's pretty far from thick.

The droid is 12.7mm and it has a slide-out hardware keyboard.

Almost all manufacturers have standardized on micro USB, like the N900 uses, for chargers. HTC, Nokia, Motorola - even Apple. So as older phones using non-standard chargers are gradually replaced, this will become mostly a moot argument.

Anyway...stupidphone?? Not hardly, more like smartphone for the masses. Simple and ruggedly built. No pocket computer a-la N900, but not intended to be.
