HELLO
I wander how i istall linux program in my Nokia N900. wen i download a program and it ask how to oppen it. so i gos to pogrammanager and try but it vill nott go. it say it is somting wrong in the programfils and vill not instal the file. sorry may englis is nott so good. can sommboddy tell my wat i do wrong

which linux program are you trying to install.. some programs are not yet ported or not compatible to n900, if you want to install debian packages better install easy debian from app manager and use it to browse and install debian apps

There is no such "Linux program" as there is no such "Windows program" (win95 won't run on windows xp or windows mobile).

Hence the answer is probably: "You cannot if the program is not specifically compiled for the ARM hardware platform and for the Maemo software platform".

i do recall someone installed a linux os on the n900 via a dual boot....

Maemo is technically a linux os (Isn't it?)

What you probably mean is Easy Debian? (In extras now isnt it?!)

good rule of thumb probably is that if application manager is unable to install a program, it doesn't work at all.

i think i anurstand littel i got to install easy debian and som program wil still domt work on the N900. How do i se wich progran work on n900 å

By asking the packager/developer of that program.

Or define "some program" first here and be exact (name, URL to download) - otherwise we can all just guess...
