Now that the LG phone (initially announced for MeeGo) stays cancelled, it is more important for Nokia to get the N900 into as many hands as possible. I am sure very soon they are gonna announce that MeeGo would be officially supported on the N900...

I am happy that I choose my N900...

Hahaha okay buddy. I'm happy with mine too, but only kf i get the stupid virtual keyboard and bugs fixed then i would be very happy. I hate what they did to PR1.1 keyboard! I type slower than before and made lots of mistakes. No swipe up or down.

Okay, so up until now every firmware was uploaded to tablets-dev as a .bin file.

So, is the new Chinese firmware there?

If it is, we can downoad it and I'm pretty sure it supports English.
If not, how do the customers from China reflash their devices if they need to?

Nokia's ambition is to targeting Asian country like Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and india. I think Nokia will have to do it this way to get more market and more developer into their MeeGo project. Also to grey scale the markets. Why you may ask.!

Because Nokia is loosing moneys on N900 and if people can just importing N900 from USA to use in their country then they will be losing a good amount of valuable market share and money. While Nokia released the N900 in Hong Kong, people like us here can't get the update, which meant people in Hong Kong have to get he device in their country to get the latest update and chinese support. Otherwise they can just get a cheaper device from the USA right? Sp i'm guessing PR1.2 won't be out until Nokia sold a good number of N900 in Hong Kong first before releasing it to the rest of the world.

This is my theory only though. i'm Not trying to trolling and spread the FUD at all.
Singapore?! I had to *blue blazes* import my phone, and according to reports the N900 is NOT coming to Singapore.

Money making and expanding N900 empire before moving to MeeGO. Nokia may be is aiming at chinese developers in making apps for MeeGO. So releasing it there will speed their market and a line of apps. That is my speculation though. Why would Nokia release a testing version firmware to people in HK? Because it is not a test version anymore lol.

It's not so easy. Rarely these updates get to all places in same time. Look at example Droid that's update came in a different time to pretty much every European country(UK being last of course by coming 3 weeks later ).

I really didn't mind about this update because i have no major problems or bugs on my phone that irritate me. Example i haven't ever even seen the virtual keyboard on my N900 and i have had the device since the first day it was available anywhere.

Still i really wanna see the Qt stuff and get the app development normal again. I sure hope it's not long anymore.

Perhaps the fanboys that told "it will be released when it's ready" can help us to undertand this situation.
