Still no solution for maemo-pc-connectivity upstart-job package missing then.... I've been searching for hours now and still can't find no way round.....

Im a bit disappointed now after reading maemo and maybe nokia support is being discontinued with the n900. I was very keen and happy to buy this phone only a month ago

I wasn't able to install the extra protocols for Conversations.

I just deactivated the Extras-Devel repository and tried again to install it. Then it works fine.

Don't search for the upstart job. You won't find it.

With deactivating the Extras-Devel, the App-Installer is showing "older versions" of software, so you can install it.
I am fairly certain that the reason this worked is because there are mutliple versions of that app in the repository, one in devel [the new broken dependency version] and one in extras [the older working version]. This is not so for all applications. The telepathy-theonering (Google Voice) app has had old versions removed from the repository, all versions up to 0.8.11-0 I think. Since that version still requires the upstart-job package, and is not available in any repository except extras-devel removing that cataloge shouldn't do anything except take it off of the possible installation list.

I am trying to build an old version of theonering but I'm not too savvy when it comes to this stuff. I want to stress that removing the repo will only work if there is a working version in the extras repo. Still looking for a fix if anyone has ideas.

Sorry for the doublepost but I may have fixed the Gvoice issue I had. I installed the Extra Protocol plugins app and restarted my device (thx to f2thak for the reboot button). Then i forced install on the Google Voice plugin using apt-get install telepathy-theonering -f. If anyone was having this problem too I hope this helps.

Yesterday I became flasher so... I had to end up in this place anyway . However, I am not sure that helped me because I had a buck-up but I bet many ppl has. It's actually very simple solution inside the application manager.

Even if you re-flashed it to the up-to-date PR. Basically in app manager you have button "Restore Application" and even if complaining about missing stuff let you continue anyway! It took me 1h to restore all of my 50 apps and everything working as before!

Hope this info helps some one too.

Just to record: The issue is solved with latest updates. I could install normally without any workarounds.
