I use Linux as of 2001 and have the N900 since day one (here).
Sorry then, you're a cool hacker!
As long as you don't know what "brick" means, I get confussed.

Well said and you know the N900 is the very first mobile that allows you to actually do that ! you try anything like what we do on the 900 with android or iphones and see what happens, the limitations of the N900 is impossible to say or even contemplate guessing lol.

lol and this is just 1 bug.
This is not the cause for the delay. Nokia did not change hildon-home code since February. I already said this on this thread.

If the n900 wasn't such an awesome piece of hardware I would have long kicked it off. I have owned Nokia phones ever since ad infinitum. Honestly this will be my last nokia. Its an endlessly disappointing loop. These finnish fudges are just alienating their very loyal customer base. When you sell your flagship device as the next big thing to take on the Apple and Google, You have to deliver. And honestly, nokia failed to deliver. The meego mashup with Intel is a joke. Intel just wants to promote their moorestown atom platform. They don't give 2sheet about Nokia or open source. Instead of investing on Maemo 6 and taking the platform further, they ended up confusing the customers. Add to that, the next flagship model is a symbian device(N8)..hahaha..Seriously, if I was an executive director at the Nokia shareholders meeting. The CEO would be the first one to get the boot. You can no longer afford such complacency, when you have some really smart and tech savy companies as your competetion. Point-in-case......Microsoft....Apple and Google are way ahead of the curve..LOL

The reason the next fw is taking so long is simply because NOKIA made such a ballsup releasing the N900 without firstly making sure it at least had some of the normal apps and support etc etc AND the amount of critisism they are getting from everyone regarding the 900 IS the very reason Nokia are taking their time about the next stage because they completly screwed up totally with the N900.
They very know that its showdown time for them and to further Meego etc at least the N900 has to shine or no one is going to believe anything Nokia say in the future ha ha.
