I highly recommend upgrading to the kernel and power-settings in extras-testing
and replacing those commands with (or any other number)

sudo /usr/sbin/kernel-config limits - 1000

and

sudo /usr/sbin/kernel-config load default

hmm.. the correct string in QueenBeecon should be.. (a guessing):

I have noticed two problems.. that i am not sure of. Maybe i am doing something wrong.

When i use the "kernel-config lock" i first need to have "opened" the frequencies to get it to work. If i run the default 125-600mhz and try to lock it at 700mhz it will say it was sucessfull but do not change. If i enable my own setting which is above 700mhz (i.e. 250-850) it's no problems.

The second thing is when i use "kernel-config limits". First it works good but after a while it changes. If i run at 250-500mhz it will change to 125-500mhz. Other limits change to other freqs. This happens even if 125mhz is avoided.

I have not have time to test this in the latest maemo27 and kernel-settings 0.7. So it might already have been solved. I will retest it as soon as i can.

id like to first thank all you guys for your hard work. these types of abilities combined with, in my a opinion, the best developers/programmers take the n900 clear past the competition.

im really a noob when it comes to scripts and xterminal but ive been able to follow jaiman's easy instructions and overclock. i'm NOT running the leaked pr1.2. just the regular 1.1. Its been unstable (rebooting) at 700, 750, and 805 after some use. the amount of time before rebooting varies and doesnt seem to be caused by launching any specific program. i live in canada so temp is not a issue, its pretty cool here (15deg). I tried 850 but it just shuts down soon after (shuts down not reboot).

any suggestions/help? thanks again!

I've noticed that the limits command ignores an upper limit of 600, is this intentional?

EDIT: Actually scrap all that, the issue is fixed in settings 0.8 which I downloaded today.

Can`t get the about info back....I`ve tried the commands and they don`t work.002 and 003 as well....any help?I have the leaked 1.2 firmware.

Try to raise the voltage... if you are running the latest kernel-power-settings (i.e. 0.7) then it would look something like this.

1. First you need to make your own settings file:
kernel-config save my-settings

It will tell you the place where it got saved.

2. Then open it with leafpad (might need to install leafpad):
leafpad /home/user/.kernel/my-settings

3. Edit your settings to your likening:
"250:20,180" try edit it to something higher.. like "250:24,180"

The kernel will go back to the default if it should reboot so it is no problems. To set it up permanent you need to "kernel-config setdefault my-settings". This i would wait with at least a week with stable running.

Me too have noticed this (if you read my post above). To fix it you could "enable" a larger freq-scale like 250-1150. Then the "limits - 1000" would work.

for settings >= 0.5 you don't need rootsh or sudo gainroot anymore.
sudo kernel-config is sufficient.

@Almedi, Tigerite: your problem with the limits should already be fixed in settings 0.8 that I uploaded this morning.
