Hi. I have noticed that messages I deleted in Claws are still in inbox, I checked that in xterm. Claws doesn't show those but in xterm they are still there even i have emptied the trash. Disk usage is growing because files doesn't delete like I thought. Do i have to manually delete those files? Shouldn't Claws take are of deleting because manually it's quite possible to delete wrong files. Is this a bug or is it me doing something wrong? The reason why I'm asking is that there's big files that i have deleted to save disk space in N800 but this way disk space is getting smaller and smaller.

Are you using POP or IMAP? Also, are they still in the "Inbox" in Claws-mail or are they in the file directory that Claws uses for the Inbox?

If you can easily repeat this behavior, then please submit a bug report here:

(The tracker is going to be down for a few days, but please submit a report when it's back up.)

I'm using POP-mail. Files are visible in the file system. Claws doesn't show them in "Inbox" because those are "deleted messages". I will report bug because it seems like it is bug.

I just made a test.

Deleting 50 mails, then deleting all mails in the Wastebin.

Result: Mails are gone, space in /home/user/mail/inbox is freed.

Now it seems to be fault in my N800 file system. I have to do deleting manually , maybe it will solve if I remove and reinstall the Claws. Have to try anyway later.

I have Claws-Mail set up so that it leaves messages on my ISP's server when I download them. Is there some way of setting C-M so that, when I later delete a message from C-M, it is also deleted from the server?

I don't know if this matter have been solved (and if so I'll really appreciate to have the solution), but about the last question: I have the same. I installed claws-maill early this week, discarding
- Evolution because of the need to have filters to manage multiple accounts;
- Thunderbird, because of the fact that you rely on their addons to connect to hotmail, yahoo, ... (i.e, if they become obsolete, you start getting "negative vibes")
My problems now is the same as joelong, anything I do on my computer is local (moving an email to the trash, deleting the email); nothing is done on the server - I tried it with a free access pop3 (i.e no need of any web mail plugin to retrieve mail)

Any help or advice will be appreciate.

I'm rejuvenating this question in the hope that someone will have an answer. This is keeping me from using Claws-Mail.

No, there's no way of doing that.
