It starts up really fast and scrolling is nice - but going to a site and loading the content there is SLOW...microB is really snappy and fast for me.

1) No Flash - this is a big, big plus for the default browser, Opera needs it to compete...
2) No text reflow - the 1 tap to zoom is nice, but does not zoom in on a particular group of text, the chosen text does not fill the whole screen as it should, makes for either harder reading or more need to scroll to read all the text....
3) Default text size - the intial webpage is displayed showing the whole page, but while that is nice, it is not practicle, not readable....the font needs to be larger like that in the default browser, so text can be read without needing to zoom everytime...

I love the progress so far, and will keep it...but without Flash, it will not replace my default N900 browser anytime soon.
You probably should write it to devs and not only here. i don't really think they read whole thread

The 'full page on start' is one of the things i love in this browser. I like the fact that i can see the page as a whole, see which part of the page I want to read (Normally titles are larger then content) and THEN zoom to a size that is readable in just one click!.

After you are ready from your read, all you have to do is Tap the screen again to get back to the full page view and see if their is any other articale you want to read. This is absolutely brilliant.

Also, I think that the absance of flash might be one of the factors for which the browser is so fast and responsive. If it's speed is due to it not having flash, I would rather remain without flash at all. If that is the case, maybe an option to disable flash when / if they ever enable it would be a smart option.

Cheers for that, but not quite what I want....

The way the default N900 browser does text reflow is perfect, the selected text takes up the whole screen without the broswer changing the layout or design....

Where using Mobile View, means the browser changes the layout and presentation to make it faster, condensed etc for mobiles....but I preder viewing websites as they were designed, so you can access all the intended features.

Yup, I agree with ya...I do like it, but just dont find it always practical....

An exmaple being when I am reading news websites, I scan the headlines, and only read those that look interesting....with this, the text is to small to easily read the text/headlines...so I have to first zoom, and then scroll....an additional step not required in the default N900 browser....

Having said that....to appease everyone, maybe it would be nice to have available in the settings the ability to remember preferences, such as font size, and default zoom level.....that would solve everything.

As ya say...an option in the settings is all that is required....if Flash slows the browser down, people can disable it....user choice.

All good points

anyone know how to change the google.com to .co.uk

I've looked in the .opera folder which is where it's held on the desktop version but can't find the location where it says google.com

When I use the default browser it doesn't seem to reflow, just zoom the page.

Double tap is all that is required.....

Take this thread for example....
Double tap of a post, and it wil not only zoom in the text, but the text will perfectly fit from the left and right sides of the screen....

Then as another example, zoom out, then double tap on a quote within this thread....it will then zoom in on that quote, and not the original thread like the previous example

So its not just zooming in, but also focusing in on the text you have selected, making the selected text fit perfectly from left to right each time
