Oh bugger, I thought this question was self answering. You don't need sex ed. do you? Anyway I think that the video link I posted in my previous post in this thread answered your question in a chemical and evolutionary answer.

Somebody needs to retake introductory bio...

It's called genetic variation. It allows higher species survivability and adaptability.

Your answer to his question asumes that evolution requires two genders.

No he didn't say that. Merely that sexual reproduction increases genetic variation and adaptability in slow growing multi-cellular organisms.

Altough, sexual reproduction doesn't stricly spaking require different genders or genders at all. Fungal mating-types achieve same result without genders.

He asked why evolution needs two genders, he answered its called genetic variation.

logic states that he should say something like,
"it does not, how ever the reason we have two genders is because genetic variation is positive have turned out to be a positiv thing for us to reproduce more" or something in a similar manner.

Not saying that its not called genetic variation, only that his way of answering implied that evolution does require two genders.

You need to understand that evolution is not a concept, but an ongoing process. As well, as the fact that evolution IS THE reason why certain species are dual-gendered. Evolution doesn't require anything. It's merely and outcome, like and answer to a mathematical problem.
