I just got this running on my nokia 770 with 2006OS. Let me just say, WOW. It is amazingly fast.

It appears that the problem is that a lot of dynamic libraries are missing. The way to troubleshoot the problem is to ssh to your nokia, then execute the swm3.sh file. Any missing libraries will show up on your shell. If you have a scratchbox setup, just sshfs and copy the ARM libraries over.

Sweet. All UI apps port so easily, it's ridiculous -- just compile. I wonder if maintaining a repository with N800 and N770 through apt-get will jump start this hack.

My battery just died and I didn't know. Is there a way to load the battery applet? Or does an alternative battery applet exist?

Thanks.

Well needless to say Iīve encountered the infamous endless reboot loop on that partition...
I had Openbox-ROX on boot, but switched to the Hildon boot and there it was...
Interesting that the ROX seemed to manage though. Wonder if itīs immune to the reboot issue?!

Hi, new on here so apologies if I appear green.

First off, awesome work/guide penguinbait! Rox looks absolutely superb and your guide made everything quick and easy.

I do have a problem though. I've been over this entire thread (I think) but this one may already have been covered and I just missed it.

Basically, everything went smoothly, booted off the MMC into Hildon, then from the Extras menu, told the system to boot into Rox, which it did. The desktop appears (which my WORD looks hot), then I get a few error message boxes pop up, (as described by someone else earlier in this thread). Once I'm through those, the desktop is useable and active, however, I only get about 15 seconds of this gorgeous desktop before my N800 spontaneously reboots.

If left, it'll continue this cycle indefinitely, all the while tempting me with gorgeous glimpses of Rox.

Can anyone help me with this? I can't wait to start playing!

Thanks

A.

Now, run
cd / <--- dont forget this
tar jxvf /path/to/file/OPEN-ROX6.tar.bz2

after that I get permission denied. I am in root in the xterminal (sudo gainroot), and the file is located in /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/OPEN-ROX.tar.bz2
I have no idea what my problem is, help anyone?

It isn't explicit but I booted from SD and continued, AFTER you've cloned the boot bits, and everything worked as described.

Bar the stinky infinite reboot loop problem of course....

First try this, boot to flash and run fsck -y /dev/mmcXXXXX???, you can also run it from a linux system and a card reader if thats more convenient, then it would probably be sdaX?

If your flash does not have fsck, it might come with e2fsprogs (I cant remember) run apt-get install e2fsprogs

My guess is you need to run fsck to fix the problem

If that does not fix it, do the following

Please provide this output

ls -l /path/to/file/OPEN-ROX6.tar.bz2

What type of card do you have?
