You know very well that once you install PCSUITE the drivers are already installed at that point so why come on here with nonsense huh?.

Ok nevermind, i never expected that the members of Maemo.org can be this rude and helpless.

For those of you that have the same problem as me, it's because Windows 7 x64 has conflicts with the drivers. For the smartasses that think they know what they're talking about, driver detection and installation DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK.

It doesn't mean that if you have a driver CD or the driver software, that it makes it 100% guaranteed that you will install everything perfectly fine. That's why there are driver conflicts and problems.

Yes PC Suite contains all the connection drivers you need, but Windows 7 itself DOES NOT detect my phone.

If this is too hard for you to understand, then let me put it this way. Let's say you have a 8GB USB flashdrive. Normally, you don't EVEN need to install drivers for it, you just plug it into your PC and you can use it straight away, correct?? Well the problem is, your PC does NOT detect the USB.

This is the same problem for me. If my PC does not detect my Nokia N900, how the hell can you use Maemo Flasher to flash it?? It shows no device is connected, therefore I can't do a damn thing!

Anyway the problem is solved, I had to run VMWare to run Windows XP and then use it. I'm actually quite disappointed with the support of this forum. We all know who the trolls are for this topic, I created this topic asking for help and laying out my problems and steps i've already attempted in my first post, but 2 of you bad mannered kids come here and post random garbage telling me that i'm trolling my "OWN" post?? Grow up.

It is YOU that needs to grow up because the advice on here about W7 64 that you never mentioned in the previous posts ! tells you what to do and you come out with your own answers that's why your trolling, your name also is a giveaway so i suggest you put yourself across in a proper manner, now maybe you can close this issue as you already knew the answers but pretend not too !.

Ordinarily this community is very helpful. See the replies that, without passing judgment, direct the OP to the generally accepted solution to the problem as presented. One of these I used myself in February when NSU bricked my N900.

I guess it comes down to this - If you think a guy is trolling then ignore him. If you have useful information then share it. If you need more specific information to be useful then ask for it.

It is nuts that a request for help should degenerate to name calling on this forum. I am embarassed for us.

Should this community be expected to reply to the same over dramatic questions 10 times a day? A simple search would have led the OP to the wiki flash article and that contains a clear description of almost all he problems that can occur when attempting to flash.

There are many interesting and informative new posts that get buried under torrents of "I BRICKED MY PHONE!!!!!!!" style posts. Sorry to be grouchy about it but they are a waste of space.

I agree with chaos, we are not being helpful. We should all drive to his house, hug him until he's claim down, and show him how to fix the problem while holding him in your arms in front of the computer.

Now that we call ourself a community?! Shame on us!

While I do admit not stating what version of Windows that I use, but it doesn't change the fact that you are the one that's trolling in my topic. Here're all the quotes from you:

Well you certainly gave yourself the right name haha you joined this forum yesterday and today you create mayhem with your 900.... says it all really lol
Right, so your FIRST post is this. Useless comment, no? Looks like you're the one trolling, and if you still insist on me trolling, then look at it this way, you're the one that started.

You are beggining to sound like a troll i have never read so much rubbish.
This is your 2nd post. Nobody forced you to read my post in the first place. I posted the steps I did to show you exactly what i've tried and the suggestions I took, and none of them work. I was being descriptive of my own problems and laying them out. You on the other hand, "INSISTED YOURSELF" on reading my "Rubbish posts". Who's the ****** here??

You know very well that once you install PCSUITE the drivers are already installed at that point so why come on here with nonsense huh?.
This is your 3rd post. If you had read my first post properly, which you obviously did not, then you'd realize that i have stated the problems I have and that the drivers don't install themselves, regardless of the fact that I installed PC Suite and NSU, as well as reinstalling them to see if the problem still persists.

So apparently, you didn't read anything and still insisted on posting 3 comments in my topic, and all you ever did was accuse me of being a troll in my own topic?? What a ******.

And there's no such thing as trolling your own topic, idiot.

Oh by the way, my username being "chaoscreater" has nothing to do with any of this. The fact that you were so "bored" and had to come up with all this ********, aka trolling someone's topic and even go so far to the point to base your comments from just someone's username, is far beyond my comprehension. Yes, my name makes all the difference doesn't it?? WOW.

And the only reason why i posted solutions in my own topic is so others having the same problem as me can read it. And this is what you call trolling?? So you think that i would create a topic, posting all the steps and solutions i've attempted and had to go through all the useless comments, and finally posting my solution to be trolling? As if. I'm not that bored like most of you that can only posts garbage crap like the ones i quoted above.

And FYI, some people could actually get the driver problem working on their Windows 7, that's why I didn't think it was the main problem for me. If you need proof, i'll provide links to all the topics i've searched, i can't do it now coz i'm at uni but if u need proof then just ask and i'll do it when i get home. But i'm doing this just to proof you guys wrong.

Oh, and you're not trolling?? Sarcasm can only get you so far in life buddy. This is exactly what i mean, seems like everyone in this forum can only provide their so called "helpful" sarcastic comments on helping others.

And all of you are missing the point here, is that this is my first topic in this forum (as i stated that i'm new here in my first post, and that i only had 2 posts when i created this topic), and that many of you were rude and bad mannered. I never started all this crap, but i guess this is how members of the Maemo community treat new members?? Having a bricked phone and trying to find solutions to fix it for HOURS is bad enough as it is, but it makes it worse when people start giving ******** replies and troll someone else's topic.

Look, there're tons of topics i've searched and read already and not many of them mentioned it's a problem due to Windows 7 x64 driver conflicts. When you have a bricked phone and tried finding for solutions and searching the internet for hours, you can easily miss a few things here and there. Especially if you have to read through 5 or 6 topics that either give no solutions to your problems, or that you have to read a huge post that spans across like 4 pages (aka the Wiki on updating the firmware). My point is, anyone that hasn't been through this before can panic easily and miss reading a few important points and just don't have time to search for so many hours on and on. I'm sure people that experienced this before only care about getting their phone fixed ASAP.

Anyway, say what you want, others can be the judge.
