No i did not, I tried but it didn't let me so I said screw it because I have my contacts backed up on pc. Was this backup for apps as well?

Yes, it let's you restore apps.
You might be out of luck because it backs up your settings too

i got it working after doing this.
go to your t-mobile internet setting. edit the apn. it will say epc.tmobile.com... change it to internet2.voicestream.com save and surf. have fun

After i upgraded to v1.2 through my computer, everything I have ever installed is all gone along with wifi passwords but contacts are all there.
When I connect to tmobile internet, it connects but no internet.
anyone have any similar problems and possible solutions?
