Vista sp1 no go ...did all of these last night.

Did you uninstall mentioned software? Did you look at the log? OTA should work.

I use Win7 64-bit and had no problems with NSU.
I saw the 1.2 update in the App manager, i selected it and it prepared the installation. Then it told me to connect the phone to a PC and start the NSU. Because i didn't have it, i installed it and then connected the phone to my PC. After that the NSU downloaded the firmware and installed it. When it was done the phone restarted and i had 1.2.
No problems whatsoever. I can't believe all the problems people have been writing about over this.

My NSU is version 2.5.2en. The update only cleared the RootFS. Everything in /home and MyDocs remained intact.

Did you have Nokia Suite running too? I disable it..enable it...reinstall both all over again....enable firewall for the two .exe program that people suggest....STOP the whatever service someone suggest...run it under admin...run it under vista sp2...and it still hang. The program just won't open. It keeps saying "Starting application."

No, the only Nokia software i had installed was NSU. I don't use Nokia PC Suite cause it's useless and i transfer all files over mass storage mode. I didn't have to disable my firewall, or stop any services, or run as admin, although Windows UAC did ask me for confirmation on running NSU. Everything went fine and it took about 10 min.
Sorry i can't help you but please be gentle with the hammering

Romanian,

Try these in order of preference,

1. Make a new user account in Windows 7 and log into that and try running the Nokia Updater

2. If not, try it on a friends pc.

3. Use the Ubuntu FREE Live CD, instructions below.

This is a 700mb download from
http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download

Doing this though will Flash the device.

Anyways, after you download it, burn it, and pop it into your CD drive. Boot it and use the "Try" options, this will take quite a while to load.

After that you can use the Flasher as per the instructions for ubuntu.
