Hi all, just wondering if anyone has experienced problems with Skype since their upgrade to PR1.2 i used to use the extra protocols plugin to do skype but with the skype now built in I tried using that but battery drain is rediculous. I have also found that MSN pecan drains more battery also now so need to have both turned off which really is not convenient as alot of my collegues use different methods of communication and would like Skype IM and MSN working.

Any feedback would be great, thank you.

Yea, especially if I have "Skype video call" enabled. The number of Skype daemon applications increases too (in my case from 8 to 11).

Skype has always been built in.
Never checked the battery usage though.

24/7, even at night.
But that's been the case ever since I got the N900, so if there is/was a bug I wouldn't notice it anyways.

I always assumed keeping it logged on would induce battery drain. I'm probably wrong.

Offtopic,
Do you get skype spam if you keep it logged on for an extended period of time?

The battery drain seems the same logged into wifi, logged into skype or not.

When I am on a video call, I use about 10% of my battery reserves every 20 minutes. I think that is pretty reasonable.

well i disabled my skype account and my battery excelled for a day. I then added MSN Pecan and again my battery drains. In PR1.1 I had both Skype and MSN Pecan on all day and my battery would last with me logged in all day. :-(
