OMG, when will it stop??
the N900 will not only get meego, it will get *two* meego version!
one from the linux foundation, with the rpm packaging system and the reference UI, and
one from the maemo/meego community based on the Nokia version of meego with deb packaging system and the Nokia UI and the Nokia proprietary blobs (3D acceleration, gsm stuff, ovi stuff and so on).
please stop to spread nonsense.

because I'm tired to read the same posts over and over again.
sorry, nothin against you in particular.
there is a lot support from nokia. if the community is not seeing it, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
nokia is providing their proprietary code blobs so that it is possible to build a meego version for the n900.
they never annouced meego for n900 so they don't have to do this. but they're doing it. why? because they want you to use your expensive n900.
also there will be AT LEAST 2 more software updates for maemo.
so where does all the talk come about nokia not supporting?
because they don't tell you about every step they do?
which company does?

However, Nokia has no obligations to develop us anything after we have bought the device already, aka Nokia has our money. N900 is a product that is "ready" right after Nokia got it sold.
What can we do about this? Pretty much nothing.
Nokia did not promise any of the above. Adobe demoed Flash 10.1 but so what? Nokia is not paying anything extra to make existing consumers happy and that is the way of the capitalistic world.
Instead we have silence of the matters we are arguing here at the forums. Please do not start flame wars about how bad everything is here at Maemo.org
It really will not help. What will help is that you will not buy the products of the company in the future that you do not like. That is also the idea of capitalism.
