I have a tv that can do both PAL and NTSC that I'm trouble shooting this on. I can only play video out to tv in PAL, but everything else can be in either format. Anyone know if there is code (settings) that can be changed other than through the settings menu?

Just tried to record a clip using PR1.2, and them using TV-Out with the default Media Player (not mplayer/sib/kmplayer) and everything worked fine...
Is the issue only with videos recorded under PR1.1/1.1.1 or happens with new videos already recorded with the Official 1.2 ?
settings on ntsc, i updated ota

I found a fix. Not ideal but it worked. I changed the ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 and now new video recorded will play on NTSC. At 16:9 it will still only play on PAL, both new and pre PR1.2 video.

You have to change it back to PAL if you using a PAL/NTSC tv, other wise keep it as NTSC when you are using NTSC tv.
Previous firmware allowed signal going through to TV with both setting but this one is a weird one.

I have the same trouble.
If i use PAL mode i can see that kind of videos.
If i use NTSC i cant, just hear sound.
WTF!

I've had some glitches with this. Intermittant no picture on the T.V, or no audio. But unplugging it, and plugging it back in REALLY quickly sorts it out everytime. (Also happened on PR1.1 though)

N900 doesn´t allow us to set the TV out to 4:3 or 16:9.
My N900 always display the videos in TV on 4:3 format. Is there anyway to change this? I remember that my old Nokia N93 had this parameter.

hey guys i had that same problem my phone, it didn't detect the video cables that came with the phone.. . but you know what, after pr 1.2 i can connect my phone to my samsung led tv and the play all of my files on the tv, the quality for video is amazing it's no blu-ray but the video is top notch ! the pictures look awesome too .
