I have the exact same problem. Just happened a few days ago for the first time. Getting it checked out in a day or two...did you get yours fixed & if so how...?

I had this problem about a few weeks ago. I let it switch off completely first then put it on charge. It kept charging for hours but now there's no problem. I think there's been some battery trouble with pr1.2 if that has to do with anything. In fact my device had been on charge and i was browsing the internet on it when it just beeped low battery and switched off. Leave it alone for some hours to charge fully and then see if it happens again

I had the same issue with my N900 not able to switch on. It happened after I uninstalled "Enhanced Linux kernel for power users" package not reading properly its uninstallation warning/instructions and do it in the correct manner. So fellow N900 users, know full well what you are doing and take the responsibility for what you do.

1. Every few minutes it will vibrate with Nokia logo without the backlight.
2. If I tried turn it on, Nokia logo again will show this time with backlight along with white led indicator, the screen will show the 5 flashing dots before going off and lastly the white indicator will also go off. Then it will repeat step 1 over and over again.

My way of solving it was to keep in on the charger despite of recurring step 1. After a few hours, I will then plug it to my Debian desktop while holding the "u" key down. Then on Debian console, lsusb will show you "Nokia device for flashing" or sort. Then I grab my opportunity to flash it. Then everything will be reset back to factory state.

I flashed only the Fiasco image and NOT the eMMC. So that the root system returns to factory state while my photos and data on eMMC still remain intact.

N900 in a way is a great open source device that you can do flashing from your desktop. So you have the absolute freedom to try out your stuff and not so much of fearing of bricking your device.

Well, folks, for 1 I don't use M$ for any of my serious work so I have no comment if you wanna flash from M$ platform.

The key is to charge your N900 for at least a few hours regardless it shows no sign of life or erratic behavior. Just juice it up so that it has enough power to last through the flashing process which is just a few minutes.

On Debian, run a console such as "konsole" or "gnome-terminal". Type "lsusb" you should able to see "Nokia Mobile Phone N900 (Storage Mode)"

The above is to confirm your desktop is able to detect N900 so that the flasher will proceed as expected.

Nonetheless, if you go ahead and run the flasher, it will wait for N900 to be attached before it will carry on with flashing.

If I am not wrong, you have to run "command" on Windoze and flash from there - good luck! Because I don't understand why you would get a linux powered mobile unit (N900) and coupled with something else.

God damn it, mines doing those exact steps. Gonna leave it charging over night and see if its needs reflashing tommorow.

It died while installing the warcraft 2 game while charging, just turned off and refuses to boot up. Charging it keeps vibrating with the feing Nokia logo.

Those with charging problems - have you tried finding another device to charge in? I used a 810 as instructed here. N900 might get into a state where it simply doesn't want to recharge.

Here's some info I collected for resolving the reboot loop problem.
