Hi, sorry if already submitted, did a quick search and found nothing the same.

Last week whilst on holiday, my beloved N900 developed a fault( I don't know if it is hardware( I doubt) or software. Basically most of the time my screen will go blank after a few seconds while using it on the web/ conversations etc, or just browsing around the phone. Touching the screen/ sliding the keyboard or tapping the power button does nothing, just the keypad lock, and then it stays lit for a few seconds again! The screen is working when it is blank(e.g you can scroll across home screens or navigate down on webpages etc, but the screen does light up until you use the keypad lock. If you watch a video in media player it stays lit and shows the whole thing you are watching( Watched a 2hour film and 2 episodes of Lost and it never went off!

EDIT. Sometimes it works perfectly fine and then all of a sudden starts doing it again.

Anybody have any ideas what has happened and how best to resolve it? Many thanks. T

I would try to flash it again.

Then you will know its a hardware issue. Could be a million things though.

Haven't yet!! Only got back late yesterday. Want to backup first before doing anything. Strangely it is working at the moment fine!
