My explanation as follows:
There are two antennas: each one is sending some kind of a voltage, and when we touch the two side, the human body links the two antennas thus creating a short-circuit.
To me I think of the solutions is to rap a film around the frame, or to coat the frame with a none conducted layer or paint.

lots of people think Apple's metronomic release schedules are a good thing - this just shows why maybe they are not. We will see if ipads general uselessness and this clusterf... might take some of the gleam off the apple aura.

Actually this is not a problem for lefties. Most right handed people hold their phone in their LEFT Hand, especially if they are doing the multitouch tango with the other hand, or walking down the street holding their bag.
