You need a Google mail & calendar account. First you sync your Outlook calendar with your Google one using the Funambol plugin, through a proxy account at ScheduleWorld, as explained here :

After that, you can sync your GPE calendar with the Google one using David's Erminig.
My problem with that is, "Don't be Evil", but have SOOOOOOO much info that you end up being a gold mine for everyones personal info - not that I have anything to hide - except my girlfriend from my wife, I don't like the idea of Google having SO much info.

Sooo, I'm looking for a more localized idea.

I just can't believe that there isn't a decent PIM that is available for both platforms?!?!

A lot of bandwidth has been on this forum about that particular point... Nokia has a different POV on this than many users here, that's for sure :-)

I know you don't want to use google but for those that do I have a very easy option for this.

I use Outook and sync it with my PDA, I also Sync Outlook with Google using Companionlink which works with any flavour of Outlook (from 97- 2007), very easy to use and just one click of a desktop icon to sync.

Then to keep my N800 up to date with an Erminig Sync.

I have PDA, Laptop, Google & N800 all sync'd with just two clicks one on the laptop and one on N800.

Am I misunderstanding Google or is this Calender only - no contacts/notes?

I'm stuck at this step. The Funambol installer is dying with:

"Some error occured registrating FunambolAddin.dll. Installation failed."

I've even tried using msconfig to load Windows in "Diagnostic Startup" mode, but the Funambol installer still fails.

Has anyone else run into this error? If so, have you found a fix or workaround?

Which version of the Funambol plugin are you trying to install on which version of Outlook ?

Thank you for your willingness to help, but I think I've identified the problem on my own. My Windows box still runs 2K Pro, and the Funambol documentation does state it needs XP or Vista. I, well, should have RTFM more closely the first time.

Good to know (hadn't seen either :-).

If you ever do upgrade and try again, be aware that there also are constraints on which version of the Funambol client plugin work with which versions of Outlook...

Thank you. That's a good tip.

Believe it or not though, I had actually checked that part of the system requirements for the v6 plugin. I have Outlook 2002, which should work. How I overlooked the operating system requirements in the very same sentence though, I can't explain.

Anyway, I'm trying the v3 plugin now, and it appears to be working. I'll retry v6 once I upgrade to Windows XP.

I have XP but Outlook 2000, so v6 is not fo me, but 3.0.15 works just fine.
