Looks like oddly worded retaliation for the years that some folks felt like they had to endure news of Linux being hacked to go onto everything in existence. In some cases, it was pretty damn awesome - I still had a 2G iPod that I placed Linux on instead of the original OS. Tried for years to get Linux on my iPaq 2210 with limited success.

Regardless... fanboys of all types annoy me. And the day Sony took Linux off my "fat" PS3 bothered me. And the day I were to welcome iOS4 onto my PS3, I'll kill.

I'd rather use WebOS in some areas than iOS4.

Personally I miss the days when phones were controlled by buttons and dpads.

They still make them. Just have to step down in terms of features and price.

For the record, I keep a lowly Motorola F3 just in case. It's never failed me in 3 years, works like I need it to and at the rate I've been thinking... might become my main phone after all because I'm tired of being a slave to wonky updates, new OS promises that never fully materialize, fanboys that argue incessantly like the old "Taste Great, Less Filling" arguments and above all... I'm bore with technology that doesn't make my life better.

I tend to like phones such as the Nokia n95 or Nokia n96. However there are many qwerty keyboard phones that are in the realm of high end devices.

iPhone Fan boy said to me: Oh OH my phone can do Screen shot can your do that?

Me: Well I can do it too, with just key press.

Iphone Fanboy: That suck I can use my app and it takes less than 2 seconds to take a screen shot

Me: With your fart Apps *roll eyes*

Iphone fanboy: Oh Oh i think I got that app too.

Me: *Roll Eyes and put my finger in my mouth to tricker my puke*

Me: Oh how about this can you send me a song, picture or video from your phone to me?

Iphone fanboy: Oh why would you need to do that? Open up bluetooth will make someone hack into your phone and plant a virus in my phone so I'll Just email you the song.

Me: What if I dont have internet or email?

Iphone fanboy: Oh then we use computer to transfer.

Me: How about memory card? Can you copy it into my memory card? Do you have a memory card slot?

Iphone fanboy: Oh oh Yeah it does have memory card slot.

Me: *Palmed Face*, Okay lets do this, can your phone record video in the dark area with low light or without light? *turned off the light*

Iphone fanboy: Oh oh see I can take video see? *Ran away afterward*

Me: Where? Where? I can't see anything..

Iphone fanboy: Oh I deleted it. Oh my cpu is faster than your phone, 600Mhz.

Me: *Palmed my face* Do you even know what that is? Mine 600Mhz too and I can overclock it to 1GHz. Idiot!

Iphone fanboy: I got OS4 installed on mine now. ANd it has multi-tasking..

Me: Dude your multi-tasking is in the 90s, that is not real multi-tasking, it just a bunch of bullshiit visual display of what apps are running and paused. My N900 can do real multi-tasking like a desktop computer, look i can play music, watch Youtube from browser and play game at the same time. *14windows opened*

Iphone fanboy: Whatever *run away* I can watch youtube too with an app, oh wait I forget to download it. Your phone is gay.

the thing with linux was that it was linux in the general sense i.e. it wasn't like asking for ubuntu on your microwave or windows ME on your TV it was linux the kernel. If the guy was asking for a unix based OS on most his devices I'd say fair enough but IOS4 the phone OS specifically? on a ps3? is this guy crazy?

All I see ^^ fanboy versus fanboy.

And I don't mean that in a harsh way. Just that why do people feel like they just have to compare one to another and not on equal terms... or terms that even really matter?

I've met folks like that... tell me their excitement to be in such a walled garden and enjoying it. I don't like it. I guess I don't have that urge to fit in as much as an iSheep, nor as a so-called FOSS fanatic either. They're just different herds with different types of leaders.

It's still a herd.

Wow, I do sound bitter.

I find that an older device like Nokia n73/n81/n82/n85/n95/n96 or Sony Ericsson p1 or Samsung Innov8 are all very usable as modern devices because you can run all the basic app you need and have access to basic functionality like multimedia, web browsing, email, apps and games, high end cameras, and calender on all of those devices.
