Yeah, at least they have this part in their policy:

As a reminder, if you are not fully satisfied, you can return your undamaged iPhone to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

The main reasons why I didn't get any of the iPhones when I upgraded:

and

http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/iphone/ All 24 month contracts too.

Excuse me while I go perform CPR on my wallet.

That article starts off... a bit off. "The iPhone is the most successful smartphone ever." is the first sentence... which I start to disagree with.

If you have a N900 and you're in the US... for 3G service you're locked to one carrier. If you're not picky about 3G access, then you have AT&T (the one complained about) and T-Mobile (who you'll be using normally anyway). And what kills it for me, what's the study on how often people switch carriers. Not all are carrier nomadic - I've had an AT&T phone for close to 15 years now. Mainly due to company paying for it though... but as far as it goes, most of my friends and colleagues don't really switch carriers that much. I would love a metric on this stat - I've never seen one. Not saying it's not important, but I've just never seen a lot of folks switch mainly due to how in the US there's two GSM carriers - one has very limited coverage and the rest are archaic CDMA.

I've never paid that $18 dollar fee - it's always been waived.

Having to pay for tethering though... absolutely sucks. I do agree about that.

Paying full price for apps you don't use. Say huh? I tend to scour Dealnews.com, Freeappaday.com and Greatappaday.com to avoid most of the app pricing. In fact, I've not paid for the majority of my apps - non-game apps even - on my iPhone.

And I use only the ones that are on my phone. I don't just grab an app and never use it. That... makes no sense.

Some parts of that first article are just... off. I guess it'll support somebody's agenda; I just find it out of line with my own user experience.

Yes you can - upto £1000 for an iPhone 4 32GB unlocked before the 24th June. Still retailing for above the £600 list price.

But why - I have switched from the N97 to N900 and now the iPhone 4 and I would say that this is the cats whiskers - there is no reception problem for me (and I dont live in a built up area). My signal is no worse than the N900 or the wifes 5800XM.

The N900 is a good Tablet/developers phone. It has its pluses and minuses. I like it. Shame it wasn't supported properly.

The iPhone 4 is a good toy/gadget/phone. It has pluses and minuses. The main minus is you MUST hold it correctly or do as I have and buy the bumper. The bumper to me is dual role - 1) the reception is fixed. 2) The rubber edge stops the screen/back getting damaged when the phone is put down and due to the slippery glass on the front and back of the phone it stops the phone sliding off a slight gradient (happened to me a few times already).

Both N900 and iPhone make calls.

The N97 was absolute RANK but you didnt hear much about that yet all the UK carriers stopped selling it with months of its launch due to the complaints and failures.

Apple have said they will give us all a full refund if not satisfied within 30 days. Lordy - if only Nokia had done that with the N97. Credit to Applecare here. I have looked around the shops today. I cant see anything I would rather have than the iPhone 4 and I have had Nokia's for years. Maybe the N9 if it was out and Meego was mature. Maybe not.

Lets watch the story unfold!

Lastly - the biggest thing I miss from the N900 - The keyboard, but I need to get used to the virtual keyboard.

The 30 days full money back guarantee* is a no brainer for Jobs at this point. He's got that class action lawsuit brewing and he knows that any iPhone 4 that gets returned can be sold back just as soon as they finish reboxing it.

2 birds with 1 stone there.

And this iPhone 4 shortage (worldwide) will go on for at least another 3 months as the staggered worldwide release is being unveiled.

30 days? Pfft.

*If I'm not mistaken, the normal policy is 7 days and involves a 10% restocking fee.

Matters. Best Buy and AT&T both have 30 day return policies with receipt.

Yeah, he could even do 60 days full refund extension and still come away on top in the current market. But that'll set a pretty lenient precedence for future cases...
