I installed mymenu from repositories and today I decided to uninstall it.
After uninstalling it, a lot of icons in main menu disappeared and only some default have been left. Normally, I have more than 50 extra icons which are no longer visible.

I have also tried to put a shortcut of Applications manager to desktop but when I click on it, it doesn't do anything

Below is a screenshot of the menu icons left.

Does anybody know what I can do instead of format etc?

thanks

Try removing /home/user/.config/menus/hidon.menu file
This should return menu to default

I had the same problem.

In my case after uninstalling mymenu the file:

/etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu

was different from the original PR1.2 version

I replaced it with the original one and the problem was solved.

You can't access those files in mass storage mode.
You need an app like cuteExplorer or midnight commander or (best solution imho) install ssh server on N900 and a ssh client on your pc.

Do you have openssh installed?
Connect via winscp

Open keyboard press shif+ctrl+x to get x terminal

then in x terminal write "hildon-application-manager" to get app manager.

I installed cuteexplorer and did this but it didn't help at all.

I followed the instructions with cuteexplorer but it does not allow me to delete or even rename the hildon.menu so I can't replace it with the one I got from the mediafire link
