Well, we're still in debug and polish mode so new features progress is still a lot slower than it will be once we fix the major issues. To that end, for anyone willing to do some more beta testing we have a released on http://instinctiv.com/b.deb . It doesn't contain any new features but should contain a few optimizations and bug fixes. If you install it please let us know what your experiences are with it. ~ PB

Just installed it! So far so good! No new features I can make out, but it feels a lot more responsive now:
  • Album View is a lot smoother now - Great!
  • Song Skip+Seek is a lot quicker now. Great+1
  • Startup is still a bit slow. Takes about 5 seconds. BUT: not an issue for me.
  • CPU workload > no idea if that has changed. Can anyone comment?
  • Both top 2 shuffles still give me "Analyzing - check back later". No idea what's going on here?...

This really is turning into something awesome! Thanks Peter, you guys are making excellent progress.

Still waiting for added letters in library for quick access to song/album/artist names. At the moment it's a mission to find the right songs when you have many The rest of the requested features can wait!

I confirm that the scrolling is smoother!
All the Shufle options are working. I don't know what to say about Instinctiv Shuffle and Play songs similar to.... the selected songs are strangely choosed! I really don't need to much those options! I can't comment too much. Only the smoothness is what I saw different! I hope that the new features will be added soon! Thanks for the involvement!

This is starting to become a very useful app. The update does seem to scroll more smoothly. What would be nice would be for it to work in Landscape mode and have the ability to slide open the keyboard and accept a character and go straight to the start of that letter. Select M on the keyboard and go straight to artists or songs or albums beginning with M.

Would also like to see Genres.

Keep up the great work guys.

Yes on the letters, but why not have it like for the I-Craps with the letters on the side? Since we already have such a nice looking app in front of nice, let's improve it by adding nice useful navigation elements to it!

Yes on Genres.

Yes on keeping the great work up!

I'm running the latest version (0.3.21) Honestly, I'm not seeing much difference in performance between this and my previous version (0.3.14). But I have solved my primary issue. None of the tracks on my memory card we're showing in the library. I believe this was just because the card was so full. I literally only had a few kB of available space. I deleted some files and presto. It looks like Instinctiv needed about 100kB of space to write some directories/files there. Now that it has, it's happy, and the tracks from my xD card are showing in the player's library.

Actually this program seems to need even more space than I originally thought. I clear off a little bit of space, and it will fill up whatever I give it. Then I am unable to launch the program after it hits that ceiling. The only way to recover is free up more space AND delete the Instinctiv folder it created (just freeing up more space is not enough). I'm not sure I'm 100% on board with the design decision to create these multiple Instinctiv folders in multiple locations, rather than one centralized location. And I'm not a fan of forcing me to give up real estate on my xD card. But I like the program enough to give Pete and the boys the benefit of the doubt, for now.

Ok, I think I've hit a plateau. Looks like, in my case, Instinctiv needed about 6MB of space on my xD card before I stopped having problems. It appears this program's space usage is no longer climbing. YMMV.

how about adding a by-folder shuffling so you shuffle songs inside one folder instead of your WHOLE library. has this been added yet?

*bump* ...would be nice if one of the devs could chime in on this:

Fantastic work so far, by the way.
