Bun - when you copy and paste text containing links you need to add the URLs manually... for example, nobody has any idea where "here" is (step 1) though it's most likely Fanoush's site I posted previously.

I've loaded 07HE three or four times now, and every time, after a day or even less, things begin to slow down dramatically.

Haven't tried anything fancy, just xterm, becomeroot, fbreader. When I slide the cover off, it takes forever to recognize the first tap, if it does at all. I'm glad for the effort and appreciate the work going into the 770, but is there something I'm doing wrong?

Could it be an mmc card i/o issue, or something like that?

Are you boot up from flash or MMC? Post your config and we will take a good look. For me, there is NO going back, not to mention progs are running MUCH smoother, and watching videocenter is ONLY allowed on 2007He. Videocenter allows podcatcher, which open the potential for CNN,FOX and major channels. I use the word potential, as I have only able to watch Nokia supplied podcast, and has NOT been sucessful in 'watching' anything podcast thing yet, though, it installs.

Sorry, bun, left my charger at work and 770 near dead now. Working from old linux laptop with lightweight ubuntu. But what is the "config" that you wanted for 770?

I would love to boot off card (512 Kingston), had that working in '06, but haven't even tried with latest HE, so booting off internal memory for now. Was going to try reformatting mmc, to test my theory on possible virtual memory/card problem, but obviously can't do now. Will try tomorrow if time allows.

Does everyone pretty much use the app manager to load stuff, or do you gurus use apt-get to load stuff? Thanks for your reply, I'll get back to this tomorrow!

Same thing for me. Zipped like greased lightning after loading. After about 12 hours, it would start taking longer to load and close apps. I finally reflashed to 2006 when it started taking 20 minutes to load/unload apps.

Nothing special loaded, either. xterm, becomeroot, maemo mapper (2006 version, as outlined in other threads).

I was not booting from MMC, I had completely flashed the unit to 2007. I also reformatted my 2GB MMC to FAT32 (and copied documents, etc. back to it) when I first loaded 2007.

I noticed that it really started after Opera crashed a couple of times. After the second time - it was hosed. I finally had to remove the battery to get it to shut down, so I could reflash 2006.

Okay, I know I'm a little dense sometimes, but MAYBE I've discovered a problem?

I tried reformatting the mmc to make sure it wasn't a swap issue, still problems. So I reflashed again. THIS time, however, I checked Tools/Control Panel/About and found that I had version 4.2007.26-8, NOT 4.2007.36-2.

So I redownloaded the file from the link on Maemo, made sure that I got the following:

SU-18_2007HACKER_4.2007.36-2_PR_F5_MR0_ARM.bin

Re-flashed and STILL 4.2007.26-8!

Wazzup with that!!??? And yes, it finally crashes HARD, with battery removal the only option to reboot.

I guess it's back to 2006 for now... THANKS ALL!

I am sorry you are frustrated. I can understand that. I wish you have better luck next time. And I am happy that you are settled down with your 2006OS.

Couple of things, I noticed the same thing too, dl file is named 2007.36-2, but installed product under "About" noted as 2007.26-8. I noted on the day of release,

So, in a nut shell, you did not do anything different, and I am still puzzling why you are having difficulty with your 2007He.

Other than crashing, you also complaint it is running slow, is only the opera browser or ALL progs? For the opera browser, I have installed those tips,
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ght=opera+tips,

and these too,
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ght=opera+tips

they increase browser page initial loading 25% faster, and does not have noticeble change on subsequent page loading. Well, I do not just say it, I MEASURED it before and after. They also worked on the 2006OS. I hope this may get you some boost, both the 770 and your mood, cheer up, pal.

Thanks so much for your help! I'll try the opera tips soon. Yes, I wish that I could get it running, but I'm out of ideas for now. Maybe the NEXT 2007HE will work for me. I like the challenge...

Installed Fanoush's mmc speed up after hooking up 2006 tonight, made things pretty zippy. Still miss that '07 interface, auto-connect, etc., but still havin' fun...

Thanks for taking such an active role in the forum, maybe one of these days I'll have something to offer, that is if we haven't all moved along to the next gadget...

Take care, and keep up the good work!
