Hi guys.

Well the question is simple... i am using Flac on my N900.. i know that Flac = More Cpu usage = less battery..but the load applet shows very less Cpu usage....is that correct?

PS : I love the FLAC support on N900..just love it!

sorry if this is a lame question..but i always wondered flac kills the processor and all

its a common problem in flac files.

maybe this line helps you, but it implies to modify your flac files
.
metaflac --add-seekpoint=100x --add-seekpoint=1s *.flac

i dont know why, but several common flac libraries in linux cant seek a flac file without seek points, even if they are optional.

hope this helps

!
Hmm alright i'll test that soon...
Also
ive noticed using the command

alsamixer -c0
we get the control panel in which the Headphone is at 88.
How can i default it to 100 24x7... i manually change it to 100..and if i change a song or unplug my headphones it reverts back to 88!...
somehow the sound is less compared to my other Mp3 players.

Edit : i tried that metaflac command..in Xterminal.. it didnt work...says not found ...

FLAC is lossless compression and much lighter on the CPU than the algorithms used for decompressing lossy compressed audio. There's not so much fancy maths involved.
