First off the N900 is 59.8 cm in height, The N810 is 72 cm. So the screen is at least 65 cm in height.

First off the N900 is 59.8 mm in height, The N810 is 72 mm. So the screen is at least 65 mm in height. Even if you mold plastic, the N900 won't be uniform. The top part will stick out..which is an ugly sight.
If and only if you still are willing to do this, then check if the ribbon cable fits after all. Because then you have a whole new problem, one not easily solvable, and possibly not solvable. Just take the N810 screen, remove the N900's screen, plug in the N810 screen, switch on the N900, and see if it works. Then you can try molding plastic.
But it will be ugly, not practical and most of all (in my opinion) stupid, due to the increased height. Not to mention the screws might not be in the right position..you'd have to redesign the whole top part.
Edit...Replaced cm with mm..sorry lol
