I want try NITDroid V2 0.0.7 using the new installer, but I have the following questions, please advice.

1. My N900 must be over-clocked before install NITDroid V2 0.0.7 ?

2. If I use the new installer, then it will automatically to over-clocked my N900 or not ?

3. From the NITDroid web site http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php?topic=84.0, I don't understand the first step, what is that really mean "Add the nitdroid repository:" and how to do it.

4. The new installer will do the 2G partition automatically ?

1. No
2. No
3. Open App manager > application catalogues > New
Name: NITDroid
Web Address: http://repo.nitdroid.com
Distribution: nitdroid/
Components:

4. Not that I know off. Read the NitDroid Tutorial2, search the forum.

If you can't even add a repository to the N900 then it surely show that you are not ready to do anything advanced on the N900, not to mention the NiTDroid installation.

My advise is to stay away until you are sure with what you are doing. Risk may lead to reflash the device.

Thanks maxximuscool and Dousan, I know how to add new repository in Maemo but I thought it was something else . Thanks to correct me....

I just found my SD card can not be used with NITDroid.... I will get another card and then try....

If this installer can do the partition automatically, then it will be perfect for beginner like me...

Thanks...

Just out of my own personal curiosity, cmsjkung...

What do you hope to achieve by installing NitDroid on to your phone? there are still a few outstanding issues that are still being addressed on the OS.

There is still no 2/3g connectivity, so it is not yet fully practical as a phone and the intergration with the android market is not yet 100%. As for games, there are plenty there to choose from but many of the fully fledged eye-blistering 3D games ate still VERY buggy at best.

Whilst Nitdoid is fun to play and poke with on the N900, it is still far from complete and not yet practical for day to day use.

However we all have to learn somewhere so before you start, remember to create both a back-up with Nokia suit and to create a complete OS backup with the tool in the repos. Better safe than sorry.

Have fun

Thanks for replies - but if autoinstall won`t overclock my n900 - why I constantly have CPU running @ 500 Mhz, even as the load is 0.00 in Conky\top?

Have read up on oc'ing in NITdroid and it turns out when NITdroid is installed it has a stock clocking at 700mhz at the moment. So a slight overclocking is there by default. It's changeble if wanted. Info on the subjekt on - http:/forum.nitdroid.com/ - Just look for overclocking guide by jay-c

It shouldn't do any oc'ing to maemo at all on install unless you allso download this file and install it: apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg :and have titans power kernel installed aswell
