I've seen desktops and laptops lag on YouTube. Your point?

mac is the best in the computer markets right now hands down.
No, that would be any computer I build.

I'm going to try and ignore the thread I'm in and just look specifically at this post.. I'm always available to help people regarding linux.

??? There an unimaginable amount of ways you can do this...

Probably one of the easier ways is to use a firefox addon such as Video DownloadHelper to download the video to your hard drive.. then use one of a plethora of free video conversion software to port it to whatever format you want.

Graphical:
Handbrake
WinFF
HyperVC
VLC

Command Line:
ffmpeg
mencoder

are there any good games for ubuntu?
Native or Emulated?? A lot will even work without any Additional Cost

is there any way i can get my built in fingerprint reader to work in ubuntu?
I have no idea which fingerprint reader you use or is on your system.. but Some do work.

Uhm.. the n900 supports more formats than the iphone. I have never needed to download a flash video on the n900 but i know it is possible. You could always use one of the many flv-converter webpages.

Yes, there are. Nowadays you can buy the games if yo like. (http://lin-app.com/category/games). But i preferr free browserbased once. A lot of Windows games works on Ubuntu too.

My brother got an HP laptop that has a fingerprint reader. I don't remeber the name of the program (cause it was some time ago). But i got it working on his.

idk either but I would bet money on it... and I'd be suprised if any conversion was necessary anyway.

Well "good" is subjective, but yeah I think linux does struggle to compete with windows when it comes to games... perhaps not so much with OSX tho.

Again hardware support is another area where linux struggles to compete with windows... prob the most compelling argument for it not being a "full os".

It's a bit difficult to describe what it is that I don't like about Apple. Their software and hardware are top notch(I have a MBP, got an iPod Touch to see what the "app" fuss is about), I think I could even live with the draconian policies. It's just that I can't buy Apple products without buying into the image that's associated with them.

Their greatest asset is the image they have, but the "hip, cool, young, artistic, well-off, etc." profile is something I'm not comfortable being forced into. If I want to express my personality I'll do it myself, not by buying into a ready made one.

The cultish following(Steve got a standing ovation once when he came to the stage to show off new iPods, WTF?) and the disgusting superlative-filled marketing are among other things that turn me away from Apple.

In other news, I came home today to find an "iPhone maailma" magazine(Finland's first magazine that's exclusively about iPhone, I learned) on my doorstep, despite a sign that says no ads and free papers and I'm slightly annoyed.

*Recent* hardware support, possibly - Windows support for older hardware is often very poor. In some areas, Linux is also ahead of Windows in hardware support - they had USB3 support out way before Microsoft did.
