my OC : 500 - 950 Mhz, ideal config. Everything is perfectly smooth, no delays, no sluggishness, no errors. This is for over 3 months (earlier used config : 250 - 850 lv), battery holds for 1,5 - 2 days in normal use (web, phone, sms, some remote desktops, rss, youtube, twitter), for 24 hours if watching movies using video out cable. No overheating, I never play emulator games or such, just chess :P ...

I believe Titan's kernel flasher made it to extras (or testing at least). That should imply that it is reasonably safe - although it does still void your warranty. I for one have been OC'ed to 850 mhz for several months and use 1.1 ghz on occasion for gaming.

yesterday i overclocked to 900/125 mhz and thus far no problems whatsoever

can others post the same please.
Been overclocking with 850 MHz as the minimum top speed and 1.1 GHz as the maximum top speed since before CPUFrequi was released. In that time (several months) I've had the N900 spontaneously combust, oops, meant re-boot, three times.

Running 250-900Mhz for several monts now (when Lehto released his first kernel, now using Titans kernel with own voltage settingsl) and had NO problems so far.
Everything's smooth.

Been running 550-1000 for a few months now and strangely my battery life has been way better since.

At this point, only bad thing I can expect is 2-3 years slashed of the CPU's 10 years expected life.

The whole history of overclocking here is available in the overclocking thread that is linked to from the overclocking Wiki documents.

Starting another thread on this subject is senseless.

Here is the overclocking thread itself. 4792 posts; last updated yesterday.

A little OT, but as I see it, if one doesn't face complete hardware failure and is able to do a complete reflash with an image from nokia before turning the device in, OC'ing shouldnt leave any traces, right? At least it's that way with HTC devices...

I would expect total lifespan to be shorter, but not outright bricking. Even then, I would expect 5-6 years, and nearly everyone would move on before that, anyway.
