Oh yeah with Titan's power kernel
You mean, you need to root it with a new kernel to get better performance?

I haven't needed parts for my N800 or N810.

I DID need to replace my Centro -- I found one used.

Do you think N900s will be so prized no one will be willing to sell one?

Are you SURE you aren't an agent of FUD?

Because you've never needed parts for your N800/N810, nobody else ever will and so that experience is mooted? Is that really your argument for how hard and terrible it is to get parts and service? :P

Labeling a fair criticism as FUD doesn't invalidate it, despite whether that's what you want it to be. If enough people are experiencing it, it's increasingly likely to be an issue that should be given attention instead of waving it away as inconsequential FUD. Rather than dismiss the question by claiming that a situation of repair is inconceivable, why not answer the question to help clear up the FUD: Is Nokia's service, repair and support better than their competition? Would you rely on it if you were a business or a user that depends on their devices?

Basically.. is it FUD.. or is it genuine? When someone DOES have problems, will they be better served by Nokia?

I am owning N900 for less than a year now ..and wow.. I had preordered it ..and now it is gone ...

Excellent..Nokia brings in a phone ...people go crazy ..buy it..
maemo community supports it..and by the time we enjoy it ...nokia stops supporting it..

Bad Nokia... I thought u trusted your own device...we trusted N900 more than you...

I'm still holding out hope that MeeGo saves the day. I'm cynical enough about those chances, but I still have a sliver of hope. We'll see.

Hmm, German webpage still sells it:
http://www.nokia.de/produkte/mobilte...#/main/landing

It is still on the Finnish page:
http://www.nokia.fi/tuotteet/kaikki-...met/nokia-n900
for 489,00 € .

If it disappears from the Finnish Nokia page, then we should worry...

Not really, since it probably doesn't help him wherever he might be located. Especially if he ends up depending on warranties.

I think you mean "install a new kernel" since "to root" means something entirely different in the smartphone world (which I'm pretty sure you understand.)

Things could be worse though. We could be locked down like a non-DROID handset from Motorola

I don't understand your worries, look here - http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/meego-codedrop.php

Nokia works intensively on MeeGo for N900 and they create periodically snapshot images with proprietary Nokia components. You even may try. Why is this pessimism?
