... huh?
There's another device, non-nokia, running Maemo that you are still working on/for???
MeeGo I understand... as there is Intel... but Maemo?
Plus.. whatever work you do for MeeGo also helps Nokia as a byproduct as well..
so.....either way you're helping the "scammers"..... Just saying.

That's a really nice way of saying 'Thank you for all the hard work you have done for the N900 community'
/sarcasm

I think Smoku acts like a fool. He did alot of work on the emulators, which is really nice, but leaving just because of Ovi Store is pathetic. He won the contest, people liked his work, people donated.
If he really cared about us he would get over it and continue instead of crying like a baby and giving up. Do you think I'm happy about the way Nokia is treating the N900? Of course not. Nokia sucks at marketing. But does that mean I will abandon my phone, which is already unique, just because of what Nokia will or won't do? You've got to be kidding.
So please Smoku, stand up and finish for the community what you have begun. Or will you everytime when something or someone fails you just turn your back and walk away?

and i fully understand his decision.
mostly i like Maemo5 despite some of its shortcomings. this incident though really is a big nail in the coffin. still, i will keep using the N900 for the next 5 years as i dont like to make early funerals. after those years i will make a final verdict about Nokia by judging the complete experience with the N900 computer (maemo/meego updates, vsync problems, ill-treated developers ... etc).
so i really hope that nokia make it up for you smoku.
in a few months i will make a little donation as a way of saying thanks for everything you have done for us. by then u have probably already moved on to another platform but still its important to give proper thanks for everything up till now.
