use power search for mods, tweaks, reccommended apps, top most useful programs etc. i could tell you how to make your phone like mine, but thats not personalisation thats imitation. make your device yours, and then you'll love it.

1. Read this forum. Be comprehensive but patient.
2. Explore the Application Catalog
3. When you're comfortable - and trust yourself - add the extra's Catalog
4. Learn what it means to "flash" your N900.
5. Learn to back up on a regular basis.
6. Immerse yourself in the great IM integrated services provided by this phone.
7. Test out the video call on skype. Will blow your mind.
8. Watch Youtube videos, check emails and reply to SMS's. Experience true Multi-tasking.
9. Understand the battery/power consumption of your device. Some people go on for days and some for 6 hours. Think about a spare battery?
10. Overclock. Final frontier. Take your N900 from 650MHz to 1.1GHz. (Hopefully points 1-9 have taught you the dangers and possibilities by this point).

and Lastly, enjoy.

Thank you all for the recommendations. I want to add that I'm an avid PC user and have been for years. While I wouldn't say I'm an expert on all things, I do have experience with Linux, and with various hardware and software. I'm very excited for this device and its possibilities.

I am curious about overclocking, however its something I may consider further down the road. How stable are things with a standard OC at around 800-900MHz? Also, how long will the CPU operate at that frequency when compared to stock?

Thanks again!
