Do you have network positioning enabled?
This is exactly why I started this thread.Just to know why the gps isn't working in the same way even if you don't have internet, because I can't have internet all the time at n900.

Anyway,thank u all!

To make it find find satellites faster, I launch GPSJinn beside Sygic (or any GPS soft).

This trick was working also with my previous old Nokia N79-N82 (I was launching the small positionning app included - don't remember the name)

Yes this is confirmed. I start my gps recorder instead. If i remember you have to do it in specific order or otherwise it wont work.

If you don't have network access enabled you'll have to get all the data from the satellites and it will take up to a few minutes for first lock. All GPS devices could be expected to have this same limitation.

This is true regardless of the application trying to get a GPS fix btw.

This is discussed in many threads.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

But still if you dont want to use network fix, you may find gps signal faster with gps jinni and sygic than sygic just alone

I use sygic all day every day, all gps devices have a warm and cold starting time, first lock of the day WILL take considderably longer than the rest. Mine takes between 3 and say 8 minutes the first time, after that its only seconds. Tomtom n other route guidence specific devices have quickfix software that remembers there last position and i doubt sygic has? Hope this helps
